Summary:
The Lead Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment. The position is specifically responsible for sanitation and ware-washing of all kitchen equipment, china, glass, silver, kitchen pots, pans, and utensils used in all food and beverage outlets.
Essential Functions:
- Help maintain operating inventory of all chemicals used on dishes, floors, sanitizer, china, glass, silverware, etc.
- Responsible for all cleanliness, sanitation and organization for all areas within scope of responsibility.
- Maintain organization and proper storage of all items used in food and beverage operation
- Assign tasks and ensure staff members are performing their duties according to our standards.
- Wash pots, pans, trays, utensils, and dishes by hand and/or place them in racks on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, sweep and mop floors, wash work tables, walls, remove trash, grease, and clean cans.
- Report any maintenance issues or defective equipment to management immediately.
- Check-in stock and store it. Stock plates and pans on line.
- Assures an environment which emphasizes cooperation, communication, and teamwork with all departments.
- Support compliance with all internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including those associated with underage and intoxicated guests.
- Supports current law and policy to provide a work environment free from illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Complete job duties with minimal supervision, maintain acceptable attendance, and use appropriate judgment.
